A Bit About Me

Hi, I'm Minjung Shin (MJ), a Textile/Surface Designer with a strong foundation in both hand-painted techniques and digital design. I enjoy bridging traditional artistry with modern tools—often starting with gouache, watercolor, or fine line drawings, then refining my work digitally using Adobe Creative Cloud and NedGraphics.

My designs are inspired by nature, culture, and emotional narratives, focusing on creating poetic yet grounded patterns. Whether I'm designing for fashion or home textiles, I aim to evoke subtle emotions through color, texture, and form. â€‹I'm currently a senior at FIT, based in New York, and originally from Korea. I'm passionate about exploring how textiles can tell stories and connect people through texture, color, and form.
